Well I finally have a chance to go on the internet and tell you guys what I've been doing...and let me tell you I haven't really done much. I moved in to my room as soon as I got here, not too bad at all. My roomate Talia is very cool, very laidback, probably the best roomate I could have hoped for. We've had a tour of the Uni and its beautiful. So green and everybody is so nice, actually too nice, you'd think they were out to kill you because they're that nice :) apparantly Iowa is one of the nicest states for good people and I'd believe that in a second! And just so you all know, I have not seen and potatoes, and tractors and farms for that matter as of yet!!! This place is damn good because its not too big to get lost in, but big enough that there's so many explorations and adventures to be undertaken!I'm still suffering from jetlag. I want to sleep at 8pm here and wake up at 630am...that's not right even it if sounds good! lol I haven't hit a tennis ball yet so I'm stressing but in the end it doesn't bother me. I'm here and if I'm last on the line up I'll still be here studying and practicing, which is probably what I'd prefer just quietly! Coach doesn't want us to start practicing until the end of next week. But we have a small Diabetes fundraiser tournament this fri, sat and sun just for some fun.I bought a new camera the other day and have taken a fair few pics, but I wont upload them until I have my own laptop. And...gasp...I'm thinking of a Macbook! I'm very excited. I know mum you want the other one, but this one is such better quality and will last a lot longer! And I'll get a free Ipod and Printer...so mum… mind sending over $500 bucks, remember you said you'd pay for half?? ;) haha I'm joking, I'll be alright. The Uni isn't packed out with heaps of people yet, but the dorms are humungo! I'm scared to be living in one when they do get packed. They're 3 story with over 200 rooms and there's about 5 of them, and some have more than 3 storys...so you can imagine this small American Uni is going to be very bloody big for me! I'm lucky Talia is Canadian, so she has a fair idea how to move around in a place like this. The food here is s***. Yes I will swear mum because it is that bloody crap. I haven't eaten meat here and don't intend to for my entire stay because I'm going to try and become vegetarian for awhile. Clean out my body and feel better I'm not eating any Big-brown-eyed cows :) But it'll be hard because all the Americans eat is meat, bagles (however you spell them) and the most rotten things. I was sick the first couple days because of the food they supply. Peanut and jelly sandwiches, every hot chocolate is piled with whipped cream… And I only touched salads so think how I'd react to that! A $5 meal consists of about 3 courses. And yes, I have seen way, I repeat, WAY more obese people here than healthy. It's one thing that has stood out immensely. Back in Aus we keep the cream off most things, but they'll put cream on anything and syrups...It's a tough life! Talia and I get the weirdest looks walking through town because funnily enough, we're the only ones walking. Sachin (my coach) explained that no one walks anymore, people just drive, even a minute down the road. And he confessed to being one of them! Talia and I are scared of gaining the "Freshman 15" (15 kilos).I have so much to write I might stop, because this is getting to long and boring. I really miss home. If someone was to say I could go home right now, I probably would, but then I would regret it in a way. 8 months will be enough of an experience for me I reckon. I'm already seeing so many new things and learning but it's a lifestyle I don't want to be around for a long period of time.By the way they think the Aussie accent is pretty darn good! Talia's been complaining to me because she's started saying "heaps good" (omg lol) and "Ta." I don't know if that is Aussie or just me though...At one point my slang was that strong she thought I was speaking a different language lol Don't worry I'm keeping my accent and Aussie lingo, I'm going to try and stay away from Talia's "Shutup"s and "Totally"...you get the picture lolWhich reminds me, yes there are fraternity's here and they have some pretty sweet houses. So I'll take lots of pics and post them up soon. I don't intend to join them. On the 2nd day here, there was already a party and school hasn't even started. Don't worry parents, I'm staying away from that :)I love you all, and hope that this isn't too long. There is stacks to tell, I'll just have to take my time. Once I hav my own laptop I can update daily or weekly. This will be a diary for me so you don't have to read everything. I hope to hear what you're all up too aswell!!Lots of love from afar in little Iowa,Feebs xoxoP.s Mum and Dad I'm probably changing from Marketing Managment to Human Resources. Talia's doing that and she's wanting the same sort of business ownership and running things skills as me.P.P.S I SPOTTED MY FIRST SQUIRREL TODAY EBS!!! It was furry and cute and actualy posed for a pic, a bit of a spiderman move, I'll post the pic up.P.P.P.S I miss my dear friends who made it to the airport. I love you all so very much and miss you all. My phone is so expensive hence why I haven't sent a msg to everyone with my number. I ran out of credit for the 3rd time already so I've got to take it easy. Once I have interent I can talk and chat like there's no tomorrw!P.P.P.P.S LANA, I miss you and wish you were here with me to experience everything. Love you
