I am back in Wells, having completed 12 months in South Korea. I am taking time out before the next adventure begins... wherever that might be. I am still trying to come to terms with what happened the second time around. I am determined, however, not to let it put me off teaching English as a career. In fact, I have signed up for a Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults). I passed the interview on 18 December and have been offered a place on a course in Norwich, beginning 16 February 2009. This will give me a focus and motivation now and will help me to get over my recent bad experience. I like a new challenge and this will certainly provide one, albeit an intensive and roller coaster ride. I will spend January warming up for it, by doing pre-course exercises and by getting physically fit again. I have always thought that mental and physical health are linked, so I must take care of myself starting in the new year. In the meantime I will relax over Christmas, despite not celebrating it. I will look for future employment in late January, but will not worry too much if I don't get offered a new contract before i begin the course, although it would be an extra incentive.
Writing blogs, for now, will go back into semi-retirement.
