We made it back from Alice Springs to Melbourne. We got very lost in the dark in Melbourne but eventually, avoiding trams, managed to find our hotel. The following day we drove down to Phillip Island, then onto Lakes Entrance and finally up the coast back into New South Wales to Bateman's Bay and now we're back in Sydney!
We have given the hire car back and started to re-pack our backpacks in anticipation of our flight to New Zealand on Saturday morning.
Australia has been great we have seen so much, but in relation to the size of this Island we've seen nothing! We drove a total of 14,913km (9266 miles) here, we have been to Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Ayres Rock, not to mention the hundreds of smaller towns and villages in between. We have met some great people, and some others! We've seen some amazing sights and some are "once in a lifetime"!
All in all, a very patriotic place that as tourists we've really enjoyed. We have had a great time and need to thank Tony and Rosanne and Campbelltown Hospital!
Would we want to live here? Probably not. Let's try NZ!
