Well, I managed to make it to London from Malaga and eventually found the hotel. A little busy but quite nice and basic.
Last night was fun... Packing.... I am so used to just packing for work and knowing instinctively what I need, how many of each I need and how long I need to prepare for! But this time is a little different. To be honest, I have no idea when I am going to get back home again. I ended up leaving most of my clothes behind and bringing more paperwork with me! I have so much 'stuff' that needs doing I am going to have to do most of it over the next few weeks, when I can. I figure I can buy clothes in Canada as I need them.
Wow, I must congratulate 'Apple' on making quite a stunning phone (albeit a little expensive)... I now have a new 'iphone 4', after being advised by someone special that a cell/mobile phone that was made in 1999 was not acceptable! Anyway, last week I popped into the Apple store in Aberdeen and parted with the best part of £500 for this new fangled mobile phone and have spent the last week working out all its' quirks, the apps, how to read books, run the sat-nav.... and even how to make a call! Again, I have digressed... This morning while cleaning my teeth in the bathroom I knocked the toothpaste of the counter, so I reached down to pick it up. Unfortunately, my new phone was in my top shirt pocket and fell out and headed for the pan! The next few seconds were a mix of panic, horror and shock as I tried to stop my new phone dropping into the water (I had flushed!). Needless to say, after a couple of hand-offs and deflections inside the pan, my new boys-toy did end up in the water, though quickly retrieved! What followed was the instant despair of having spent half a grand on a new toy, only to break it inside a week.... And guess who turned down the insurance? But guess what, after a quick dab of the towel and some vigorous shaking.... It still works. I was a happy little soldier this morning. Well done Apple for making a 'Phil' proof gadget.
Really excited about the whole Canada/Emma thing....
