*Polish greeting for hello*
We have been in Krakow for just over 24 hours now, having arrived early yesterday morning by train. We shared a couchette carriage with two guys from home, Alex and Mike, who were verynice and kept Ciara awake for several hours chatting.
We transferred from Warsaw at about 7am, arriving 3 hours later into Krakow. The journey was uneventful apart from two Polish men in the carriage with us who kept an almost completely uninterrupted flow of conversation for the entire duration of the journey, with occasional interjections from one of them who wanted to test his knowledge of English swear words with some native speakers.
The Old Town of Krakow is beautiful and we were instantly captivated. We spent the afternoon wandering the back streets and sampling some authentic Polish cuisine - we didn't really know what it was, but it tasted very good! In the evening we met up with Claire and Robbie, Ciara's cousin and her boyfriend, and cooked pasta together before heading out into town. Having wandered in and out of a few clubs we ended up, kebabs in hand, back in the hostel - the impact of our lack of sleep this week was evident when Claire came in and woke us up at 12:30pm!
We're going out to the Salt Mines today and having a rest day to catch up with Claire and Robbie. Tommorow Auschwitz and then onwards to Prague.
See you soon!
Phil, Ciara and Matt
