We found Nemo in Fiji!!!!
Bula! (hello)
We had a great 'holiday' in Fiji. A week of relaxing from travelling...weird? Castaway, Love Island and survivor is all set in the islands of Fiji. So you get the picture!
We visited 2 islands in the Yasawa island chain. The first one was 5 hours by boat from the mainland. It was called Tavewa and that is a proper deserted island, you can't get much closer to Robinson Crusoe then that (check out the pics I found a Robinson on the beach)! There are no shops, bars, resturants...nothing...but a beautiful beach, a lot of palm trees and a very basic resort. We stayed in a wooden bura (tree house), with just a bed and a mosquito net! Toliets and showers outside in another building (quite minging and lots of bugs). Electricity only in the evenings. All meals are included as you can't buy anything, that means you eat what you get served... There are a lot of bugs, LOTS of mosqitos. It was all a bit of a shock at first, but you get used to it. Walking on an untouched beach kind of make up for it! Only thing you need to look out for is falling coconuts! There are more people dying from that then from shark bites in Fiji! We had an amazing few days.Very quiet out there, last night it was only 5 of us staying on the island. We kayaked to an uninhabited island one morning it was really amazing, went out fishing with the owner one day, did some of the best snorkeling we have done so far, right of the beach and we spent a fair amount of time in the hammocks.
After that we went to Mantaray a more 'posh' resort on an another island. It was also really great, nice bura, great snorkeling and it was kind of nice to be back to normal things after living like cavemen for 4 days!!!
Thanks for your emails and messages for our Birthdays!
