Hello! Or Kia Ora, which is Maori for hello!
Since I last made an entry I said I needed to go back to Auckland from KeriKeri as there was no work here. Anyways, we were due to head back and then the woman who owns the lodge told us there was a man looking for a couple of people to do some gardening work for him, cash in hand. So we snapped that up and got just over a weeks work from that. Then we found out that the Kiwi Packhouse work started not too long after that so it all fitted in nicely. So, we've started in the packhouse now, and thank god I'm only doing this for about 8 weeks. We are working 12 hour days. I'm stacking boxes and Kate is grading Kiwi fruit! Atleast I'll get to save alot of cash doing this, then i'll be able to travel round again and see the rest of New Zealand.
Last week, New Zealand had the worst rain fall for 125 years. Enough rain fell in one day to cover four months worth! Not suprisingly, there was massive floods everywhere. It was carnage for the farmers, that was the main local news story, not that it ruined the bridge in KeriKeri cutting half the town off from the otherside, or people having to evacuate their homes, no, it was the struggle the farmers had saving the cows from the flooded fields. They even got helicopters in to rescue them! Thankfully though they're ok so it's all good now. The bridge though is still shut off so..............
Everton for Europe by the way!!!! Come on you blue boys!!
Think thats all for now, I won't be up to much for a while as I'll be stuck in work but I'll update if I do anything exciting or if I get more news on the Farmers fiasco!
