I'm sitting in a hotel room in washington dc watching twilight with some friends... So I've decided to update my blog!
Camp has finished, friends have gone and travelling has begun! And after 4 days we've already 'done' Philly. Sorry , by we I mean me, Rachael, Jess and Katie.
And as soon as we hopped off the bus at Philadelphia we went in search of the best Philly cheesesteak! We went to reading terminal market where there were lots of small food outlets, all selling their speciality dish whether cheesesteaks, seafood, Greek food or sushi - it was all there and all unbelievably amazing!
The next day we went around the city, saw the city hall and went shopping. But it was the baseball game that capped off the evening: a real American experience! What astounded me the most was that the baseball, football, basketball and hockey stadium are all in the same location. And as you walked through the gates into the baseball stadium the pitch was right in front of you - huge - and all the outlets ran all around the edge. But our seats were right up at the top... But the game was still awesome!
The last day we tried to find a museum... and failed. But that evening we went to a friend of a friends brewery for a free tour and beer tasting! The brewery, called Yards, only supplies four states but had some of the best tasting ales I have ever tried - including one that tasted like a christmas tree! Then we went back to their home for cheesesteaks (the best yet) and more beer!
So in all Philadelphia was excellent! Definitely a better and cleaner city than New York (although not as many things to do) and the food was delicious.
Now I'm in DC and ready for some more amazingness!!!
