We all slept in late this morning, and we had absolutely no reason to rush. We were determined to have another lazy, do nothing type of day, and just hang out around the park, and make the most of their facilities. The sun was still going strong, and the wind had just about disappeared, but it was forecast to return in the afternoon. We've had an unbelieveably good run of luck with the weather, we just hope it continues for a couple more weeks. It probably won't be so good as we get down towards the south east coast, around Brisbane, but we'll just have to wait and see...
Due to the warmth of the morning, the boys asked if we could go back into the lagoon in town for a swim, rather than use the pool in the park. We agreed, cause it was still early enough to be there before it became infested with the usual backpacker crowd (they don't normally function before 10am), so off we went. While we were there, we did the usual touristy souvenier shopping, and picked up a thank you gift for Greg and Naomi. I ended up with a new pair of boardies, and Jo got another fridge magnet (we're going to need a larger fridge!) The boys got nothing, their money ran out about a week ago. We had an early lunch in town, and came back to spend the rest of the afternoon in the park. It's Queensland school holidays as of tomorrow, and you could notice the influx of families arriving to check in, which made us realise we'd have to get used to sharing all the parks and tourist attractions as we head down the coast. We grabbed some golf balls and putters for mini golf, and needless to say, I kicked their butts again. It was the best mini golf course we've played on, and Jo took heaps of photos, so we'd have blueprints when we got home...
That's about all we've done... The park is puting on a BBQ tonight, which we'll go to, so that takes care of dinner. We've got an early start tomorrow, because we're driving to Rockhampton, about 550km, and we like to arrive with time to do some exploring. Hopefully, we'll be going againt the general direction of travel for the school holiday crowd, otherwise I'll have to put that 'patience' virtue back into practice.
That won't be pretty, it's gone all rusty...
