Hi all... Here it is -our FINAL blog!
Last time we wrote we had just arrived in London -which ended up being great! We only had 4 days there and they were all jam packed!
We did buckingham palace (and happenned to arrive just as they did their changing of the guards drama -which was just slightly over done), then trafalgar square (where there were hardly any pigeons at all now!!), Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament (that looked more like a palace than a place og government), Big Ben, London Bridge and then when we got to the London Eye on a blue skied sunny day -of course the ten days of maintenance the ferris wheel needed once a year landed on the days that we were there -so we got to look at it and that was about it! Instead we went on a ferry cruise down the river Thames.
After a full on day the first day we toned it down a notch for the second and spent our morning in Madame Tussaude's -which turned out to have a creepy horror dungeon with live actors that jumped out and ran at you and freaking Ann right out she was almost in tears -whereas Greg just yelled back at the actors. Later that night we went to see Les Miserables which was really moving and very well done.
While in London there was of course some shopping fitted in as well as a hop on hop off bus tour and Greg found his favourite Irish beer in the lobby of our hotel (although we couldn't find it anywhere in Ireland) and quite a few pints were enjoyed! Ann also got to meet up with Miranda and co!
Paris was next and we found it to be a mix of London and Barcelona -classy but much more arty and rough around the edges... Eiffel Tower was of course the agenda for our first day -we went all the way to the top and it was crazy how many lights we could see. It was like being up Mt Lofty at night but heaps less bushes in the way and heaps more lights! We also fitted in Notre Dame, Sacre Coure, Moulin Rouge and lots and lots of walking...
In Amsterdam it was Greg's birthday on the day we travelled -so four hours on a train wasn't much fun but we made up for it by going on a fantastic canal dinner cruise which we would rate as five star food and service and views... so not too bad in the end for Greg's birthday!
We hired a bike -much to Ann's resistance but neither of us fell over -so it was all smiles and heaps of fun -we were told there were like 1.5 million bikes in Amsterdam to the only 800000 people! So you can imagine...
Very happy to be getting home soon -catch up with you all very soon!!!
Love ann and greg :)
