Before visiting Chiang Mai we stopped off in Ayutthaya .. Where we had to get a Thai train that took around 2 hours (It was pretty old school).. I don't think the train broke 20 mph and when we stopped it seemed like we where crashing into something.. Not quite like south west trains!! In Ayutthaya we visited a floating market which was pretty different to anything I've ever seen before .. The Thai people also took a liking to me + Andy and where asking us a lot of questions and weather we would like to go talk to there daughters!!! However we left the market single and without a Thai girlfriend
2nd day in Ayutthaya we rented out some old school push bikes and toured Ayutthaya ourselves which was very fun although pretty dangerous as there aren't really any laws on the roads, no one really pays attention to red lights or what lane they should be in so cycling through it all is pretty crazy !!! the weather was very hot ( got major sunburn ) and ended up with some pretty bad tan lines from my vest !
After visiting all the temples we though we would go out for a few bevies ! we couldn't really find many bars and the one bar that was open was just full of Thai people.... I felt very out of place for once especially as none of them spoke a word of English
To get to Chiang Mai from Ayutthaya we had to get a sleeper train.. She was pretty kishdy however sleeping on it was pretty hard as it was so noisy and bumpy. We had to share a carriage with two Thai people as well that looked and smelt pretty funky which we where gutted about as we hadn't really met many other travelers yet!
In Chiang Mai day one. we had a free day with nothing planned and ended up getting a tuk tuk to the tiger school which was amazing ,you don't quite take in how strong they are until your up close and touching one in person.. after we went to a monkey school which was an experience ! it wasn't all that good and the monkeys looked like they got treated pretty bad however .. I did beat one at basketball so I left the place feeling pretty happy
Day 2 we started our jungle trek!! The trek was amazing it lasted 2 nights and 3 days. we visited waterfalls that we could jump into slide down and get under which was incredible and also pretty scary at times as the waters where high and current was STRONG !! but i guess that just added to the thrill ... when sleeping in the jungle we stayed with different tribes that lived up there . we stayed in wooded shacks with bamboo leaves that where strapped together for a roof which weren't that waterproof however after a 6 hour jungle trek sleeping on a wooden floor with dirty bed sheets it wasn't to bad ... the food however was nice .. we got loads of different Thai curries which where amazing , some of it was better than the food i usually eat .. Also they grew there own tea/coffee.. I didn't try the coffee as I don't like the stuff but I have to give it to the junglers they can make a cracking cup of tea !! beats PG tips hands down!! i was going to try steal some of the tea leaves for bills but i couldn't find any !
Also on the trek we road elephants, went bamboo rafting which was fun with the high waters and fast currents.. i also managed to push Farners in which defiantly made my day ..Other highlights off the trip where defiantly ruffing it up and having to wash under hose pipes and in the waterfalls having dirty clothes and wet shoes!!

Dad I'll just let Claire know that some tribal Thai's are better at cooking than her or are you referring to a Borer kebab? All sounds pretty dull compared to a night in the Dragon! Just returned from a weekend in Devon, too much to drink but managed to turn out for the Dragon pool team tonight, 100% record so far> played 1 fluked 1. Have fun boys. KP
james haha thats okay then hopefully you can keep up that record .. and no the tribal food was good , but as far as good food goes out here ! im allready looking forward to one of claires roasts !! however we have managed to find kfc out here so weve taken full advantage of that :)
