Hiya,
We've been in Kuala Lumpur for a day! Our original plan was to spend 2 days in KL, We left Krabi after my morning of rock climbing, our plan was to get to Hat Yai in the south of Thailand and catch an overnight bus or train to KL. Upon arriving it became clear that we weren't going to get there as all the busses had already left and the train didn't go to KL. We spent the night in Hat yai. The following morning we boarded a 27 seater VIP coach to KL. This took 11.5 hours. We were not aware that it is the Chinese New Year this week and the whole place was packed, and the hotels were pretty packed as there is a 5 day holiday.
Upon arriving Carly was not feeling to good so i left her with the bags as i went on a wild goose chase around the city in humid 30degree temperatures for accomidation, cash machine(as we only had baht), food and a ticket for the following night to Singapore. I managed to sort out these (even though i was dripping)while Carly was having her back rubbed by a sympathetic thai woman!
A rough night for Carly was followed by an action packed day wizzing round all the main attractions that KL has to offer.(which was not really much!) Luckilly she was feeling better by now! We were glad we only had 1 day as it's not really a great City and not too much to do.
We did go on a walking tour, through China Town(similar to the one in London, however they did have dogs for sale in shop windows-louisa see the little cuddly white one?- no were not getting 1!), visited some temples/mosques, central market, train station, the tallest flag pole in the world(100m) & Menara Tower. We got the LRT(similar to the tube with air con) to KLCC(KL City Centre) and went up the Petronas Towers to the 41st floor Sykbridge. The sky bridge gave some great vies over the city. Later that evening at 11pm we boarded the coach to Singapore.
