Hello again, just a quick update before we go to Bali for a couple of weeks.
We've been in Singaopre for the past few days, we got an overnight coach from KL. This only took 6 hours and we arrived at 5am. As with Chiang Mai, we were unable to check in till 2pm, luckilly we could use the many facilities our hostel has to offer. This place is so cool, it reminds us of the big brother house(without big bro watching) it's futuristic, has a roof terrace with pool, free internet, lazy area with plasma, reading areas and pool tables. This was our first experience of a dorm, but it was cool as our room mates were really nice.
We arrived on Chinese New Years Day, Absolutely everything was shut! We went for a walk with our new friend , The New Yorker, Dan. He works for the NYPD! He showed us most of the sights that could be good if they were open! That evening we walked to Little India, it's was the only place that was open, as it was a public holiday Carly described it as going to Ikea on a Bank Hol with the population of Southall.(it was rammed) We managed to find a decent restaurant and in true Johnson style demolished plate fulls of curry! We then lazed and watched a film while rubbing our bellies!
The next day we visited the small island to the south called Sentosa Island. We arrived via cable car and spent the whole day here(kinda like Butlins minus the red coats). We had a good walk round, watched a parrot show & a really cool 4D show, this really scared us in parts as the chairs moved, squirted us with water and at 1 point rats were round our ankles! The day on the island was finished of with the Grand Finalle- Magical Musical Fountain. This was the absolute nutts. It inclued dancing fountains, with lazer lights and music. We then headed to mainland and to Chinatown for a Chineese.
There's not really too much to do in Singapore apart from shop, shop, shop and eat. Carly was excited there's even a Topshop although the prices are the same as the UK. Were really looking forward to Bali, we catch the flight this evening.
Hope everyone at home is well & still enjoying our updates.
Love to all
Carly & Paul
