Here we are in Pokhara
Today we headed up from Chitwan on what was to be a four hour bus trip. However... somewhere between the booking and the event we got downgraded from Rainbow tourist to local "Bollywood" transport. So we zoomed along to pretty frightful music in our fringed. tassled, and metal coated painted bus that had so many passengers they were on stools in the aisle - great experience tho' even if it was a couple of hours longer.
Much of the country here is under truly beautiful lime green rice paddies. Not an inch is spared from terracing and the locals are spending their days wading in the mud ploughing, planting etc - a very hard life. But there are also some who are obviously very wealthy with three story mansions - decorated and painted in their own outlandish style. They love lime greens, pinks etc and patterns made with different coloured tiles.
Spent our time trying to lighten the packs and wandering initially in the rain. Then WOW we turned the corner and there they were the magnificent and HUMUNGOUS Annapurnas.
Having a ball, see you after the trek in a much thinner, little body
Love us
