Just a quick note on my new Scuba experience yesterday. Though definitely not as brilliant as Koh Tao was, diving off the coast of Nha Trang was really great. I saw a ton of new things that I hadn't seen yet, for example..., a school of shrimp fish, cowfish, a LION FISH, several flutefish, very adorable nudibranches and my favorite of them all, making my dive-life 1/3 of the way complete....dum duhduh DUM! Three whole live cuttlefish! I'd been wanting to see them forever, and here were three of them! Watching them change color was really fantastic.
The leaders of the group were very cool, but the other fun diver that went with us was really crap actually. For a guy who has supposedly racked up 150 dives to my 10 (now 12), he had absolutely no awareness of where he was and what he was knocking into all the time. He actually climbed up onto the boat after the first dive with a three inch chunk of sea fan stuck to his sock. If every diver behaved that way, there would be no reefs left. Oh, and he harassed my favorite cuttlefish putting him forever on my "list."
Ah, and the other two creatures on my list to make my dive-life all complete would be a manta ray and a whale shark. I have a feeling I will be sticking with cuttlefish for a while.... :)
