Day 13 A relaxing day at the 1770 Sunday morning markets, stocked up on tropical fruit, second hand books and a Queensland boulder opal. Picnic lunch on the beach and Paul went kayaking in his new Hobie in the quiet inlet. Tonight fresh reef fish on the BBQ, sweet potato chips, XXXX beer and the rugby league grand final, followed by a tropical fruit salad!

Day 12 Today we travelled south through industrial port city of Gladstone, home of Rio Tinto, and onto tiny coastal villages of Agnes Waters and 1770. It was here that Captain Cook came ashore, a truly beautiful inlet with shallow blue water. Traded a 6-pack of beer for freshly filleted reef fish from some guys in our delightful shady van park for tomorrow's dinner. But for tonight BBQ steak, salad and a red!
