Well a lot has happened since my previous blog! Yet we have stayed in the same place. It has been nice to just get to know one place more.
After doing 4 more dives on the open water PADI course, which were all amazing, I decided to take the Advanced Open Water course too! It's another 3 days long, but once certified you can dive up to 30 metres. The past week has been a fantastic experience! On one of the days, we got to swim with not one, but two Whale Sharks!! Couldn't believe how lucky we were to do that, they are huge creatures. The biggest fish in the ocean! The first one stayed for a bit then dived down, but the second one we swam with was feeding vertically up in the water, then it turned towards us and swam right under us all! Got to stare right into it's open jaws! Very exciting to see. Then a other day we managed to swim with spinner dolphins, again they stayed with us and played for a bit swimming in circles. Seen so many cool things here when diving, like sea turtles and rays!
The advanced course was even more fun, as we got to dive on a ship wreck (including playing in the captains cabin!), do a photography and drift dive, and also a night dive. That was a whole different experience! Then completed a deep dive down to 30m, where we played around with eggs under water. Cracking them on our masks and watching the yoke stay intact because of the pressure was cool! Also completed a navigation dive. So now I am done diving here, and am officially an Advanced Open Water PADI qualified diver!
We are hopefully going to try and make our way in to Nicaragua in the next few days, as I don't have long left for this trip! Had a fantastic time diving here, I will be sad to leave paradise!
