The Thunder Storm
I'm at the copa copacabaaaaana. Where music and passion are always in fashion!
So there are 2 main towns on the Lake. Puno, on the Peruvian side where I was yesterday and Copacabana here in Bolivia. Everyone goes to Puno to see the floating Islands and then here to go to Isla del Sol, which is the biggest island on the lake. Everyone says it's lovely and in fact it's where the missing guy went but I think I'll not bother. Thinking of furnishing my flat now lol.
I spent the morning before I came here trying to sort out packaging in order to post some things I bought on the floating Islands, only to get to the post office to be told it's closed for a few days due to some problem or other. Fine, I'll just post them in Copacabana. The bus got me here too late today so I'll post them 1st thing in the morning.
A storm started brewing in the distance around 6ish. It was nice to watch. However, at 8ish it was completely overhead! I've never experienced anything like it in my life! I'm not one who scares easily as I'm sure you know but omg I was petrified! The thunder was so loud and prolonged I seriously thought the windows were going to come in! It didn't "clap" like thunder does, it CRASHED!!! The lights flickered then went out completely leaving me in pitch blackness. (after the 1st flicker I quickly grabbed my emergency torch so it was right next to me. Even when petrified I can still be sensible). I have my own room again, which would normally be bliss but I've never felt so in need of comfort from another human being! There was no way I was moving from under my covers though! Why do we feel safest under there? Does it stem from childhood when we always thought there was a monster under our beds?
