Bordeaux? Strikes and the detour to Tours
After the racing we had booked a ticket to bordeaux we hadnt booked any accomodation as we were gonna blag it when we got there. We got a taxi from the hotel at 9am and we went straight to the station we couldnt find our train anywhere on the boards. We ended up asking randomn people if they speake de english? They obviously didnt so we found a ninformation booth. Turned out that a local train operator was on strike, it was glorious weather so they must of wanted a long weekend off work, who wouldnt! We got given a divert but it was 3 trains and got us to bordeaux for 6:30pm. We cancelled the tickets and read the rail book we had (robbed) i meant borrowed from the hostel in paris, we decided to go to Tours as it was supposed to be a central hub for travelling.
When we got to tours i went to the toilet which i had to pay for, the lady said le pee pee, oui (pronounced wee)! I said oui paid my 20 cent and giggled as i went for a pee pee! We then went to the information centre and asked about accomodation there was no hostels and few budget hotels so we booked into a 2 star hotel called hotel val de loire. it cost us €60 for a twin, it was a ok room with period french furniture and a bathroom with a dodgy shower that you had to hold the button to get any water out off.
We went out to check the place out and bought the tickets for bordeaux for tuesday. We found a nice square where we ordered a few more leffe and a bird shat on copey. we then wandered to the hotel, showered and went for a chinese tea. To our surprise the menu had d*** lemon and the chefs special meat! Obviously the translation was a bit out but we giggled to ourselves as we ordered our tea. Now us being honest guys got the bill minus our drinks we let them know and paid the bill. We could of done a runner but thought anyone would be able to spot copey in his oldham carlotti vest! We had one more drink in the square and headed back to the hotel for the night. Copey was saying how nice this place was no drug dealers or anything then about two minutes later we walked past a hooker on the corner, Obviously good timing!
