Bordeaux, trains and the ghezin hotel
I woke up at 9am in tours and headed out to update my blog as id negleted it over the weekend with the dodgy wifi we had at the hotel. I went to the local macdonalds ordered a large minute maid and updated my blog and rang home and spoke to emily too.
I went back to the hotel when copey was awake we grabbed our bags and headed to the train station. We had one connecting train to the station where we needed to catch the bordeaux train. It turns out they were on strike too, we managed to jump on the other train and arrived at the other station with plenty of time as the train was running late. We pushed on board this busy train and managed to find a seat in a compartment with some french lady and her two kids. The little boy was mental and mystchievious he remimded me of max. Copey on the other hand was getting annoyed with them as the kid keep yelling and the kid nearly smeared his tuna sandwich on his combats, to be far he had worn them over a week now so dont think the tuna was gonna be the smelliest part!
It took just under 3 hours to get to bordeaux, we past a load of vineyards but it was just stumps as its a little too early in the season. We arrived in bordeaux and went to the tourist office to find accomodation she directed us to a youth hostel and we wandered there to find out it was booked! So we headed back to an etap we had seen, €54 a night with free wifi . Done booked for 2 nights. As we walked back to the train station we saw a sex shop and next to it a hotel called hotel ghezin, now it doesnt take too much imagination to guess if this hotel rents by the hour!
We grabbed a sandwich and then booked a bus from bordeaux to madrid, first detour but thought what the hell were on the road to nowhere. It cost us €66 euro for a one way trip and was a night bus so guess we are saving on accomodation there. We went to town on the metro and saw a mist spray we jumped off the metro and it turns out there a fountain that sprays mist every 15 minutes it was red hot and kids where playing in the fountain.
We wandered round town and booked a tour to a vineyard on thursday it cost us €30 each so stay tuned for the vineyard visit. We walked back to the hotel and found a restuarant it was the only restaurant in france that had more english in then any other place we had seen. We both ordered steak and chips, it was cold as we asked for medium so it was a slap in the pan both sides, typical french destroying good steak! I had a pear sunday desert and we went back to the hotel. We went online and booked the hotels for madrid. It turns out the hostel was full so we went on last minute.com and found a top secret hotel 4* for £50 a night bargain as the hostel wanted £21 each. So guess we may skip hostels all togther and live it up in hotels!
bordeaux is really nice think this place is gonna be my best french town of the trip!
