14th January (Week Twenty-Eight)
Spent the day stressing about selling Alice (the car), only realised today that all of the notices Paul created had the wrong mobile number on. We were wondering why we hadnt received many calls. (Big whoops). Anyway headed off to a big car market at the Ellesmere racecourse. Spent the morning with crossed fingers. We had a few people look at the car but no one was really that interested. So headed off late afternoon stressing that we only had 1 day to sell the car (big ahhhhh). Posted some new notices in more hostels (this time with the correct mobile number) and just waited. Went for a stroll around the harbour trying to keep optomistic that someone would save us before tomorrow. Went back to the hostel and Paul got talking to a German man who had been in the country a few days, we asked whether he needed a car and luckily he did, he bought it off us (thank goodness for that, now thats what i call a close call)
15th January 2007
Spent our final day in Auckland wandering around and very relaxed. Went up the sky tower, decided against the jump. Caught a late night ferry across the harbour to Devonport, to see the Auckland city lights sparkle. That was pretty cool.
16th January 2007 (A very long day) Day 291
Caught the flight out from Auckland to Santiago, was a little worried as my fear of flying seems to have got worse. However the flight was relatively calm and landed in Santiago in one piece, very tired.
