30th June 2006 - Day 91
Left Narrabean and headed for Manly Beach, walked down to a beach over looking the harbour and opera house - amazing views wow! Sat on a harbour wall and had lunch with the Sydeny harbour waves crashing against the rocks. The headed over the harbour bridge into the city. Went on to Bondi beach, where we watched the surfers catching some waves. Looked too colld for us though!! Decidedot build a sand octopus monster for fun on th beach! Drove to Botany Bay to camp for the night - very small - very expensive!
1st July 2006 - Day 92
Dropped off Charlene at the Wicked office - phew no extra charges for the crack in the windscreen and the dink on the bumper, ... yippee!! Caught a taxi into the Sydney to Eva's backpackers in Kings Cross, very cosy and well decorated. Headed off through the Botanic Gardens towards the Opera House. The sun was shining a good aussie day!
Did some people watching in a cafe by the harbour, went to the modern art gallery were impressed by some artists who must have spent at least 1/2 an hour on their work. Went on the The Rocks Market and found a good pub - Lord Nelson Brewery Pub a had a few pints to end the day. Woke ourselves up later for the England game at 1am.
2nd July 2006 - Day 93
Watched England get a kicking - penalty shootout. Slept in after a long night watching footie - dodgy ref!! Had a fantastic breakfast at a swanky caff in Kings Cross to set us up for the day. Checked out the city centre and the rocks again.
3rd July 2006 - Day 94
Decided to get the Manly ferry out into the harbour to check out the harbour views from the water. Another beautiful morning and we got some good photos, before it started to get colder and overcast. Used our ferry pass to go up river (for about an hour) to get to the Olympic Park. Paul will admit it was a bit boring and not much to do there, although a Music/Christian festival was going on - Hillsong festival - and we couldn't work out whether they were hillbilly types, happy clappers or heavy metal fans! or a bit of all three. Ended the day back in the Lord Nelson for a few more pints of 3 Sheets and Monday night Pie and Mash for $5 (about 2 quid).
4th July 2006 - Day 95
