Arrived in Ho Chi Minh on 13th March after 4.30hrs on a bus stayed in a nice hotel in the centre of the city. We visited War Museum and Independent Palace also went up to the 49th floor on the Sky Deck with amazing views over the city. There must be 7 million people in Saigon and 8 million mopeds! Trying to cross the roads become an art form. The answer is simple. You just walk out in front of 5000 oncoming mopeds. They will avoid you! It takes nerves of steel and courage but we became experts and still alive to tell the tale.
The War Museaum was full of Anti American propaganda but did show the results of the chemical weapons the Americans used on civilians.
Today we took a trip to the Chu Chi Tunnels, crawled through narrow tunnels on our hands and knees at one point. Miles of tunnels where the Vietcong slept, cooked and lived at the time of the Vietnam War. Paul had been looking forward to visiting this historical site for ages but we were landed with the worst guide in Asia. It was weird seeing original American tanks, which had been blown up by the VietCong.
On 16th March we flew from Saigon to Nha Trang where we will stay for a few days. We are going to a Mud Spa tomorrow which should be fun and on Wednesday, we are booked to go to Vinpearl. To get there, we have to take the longest over water cable car in the world.
