We spent 2 days at Pilgrimage Village Resort in Hue,was upgraded to a bungalow which was beautiful,huge room and bathroom and resort had fabulous swimming pool.Visited Thui Mui Pagoda by dragon boat and was delighted to see a festival at one of the temples a procession of colourful people it was fantastic.Visied many Temples Tu Duc, Minh Mang and Khai Dinh.
We booked a trip to Phong Nha Caves, one of the best caves in Vietnam ,you travel by row boat through caves lots of staligmites and stalitites.We stayed in Dang Hoi for 1 night then caught train to Ninh Binh 8 hours.
The resort in Ninh Binh,Tam Coc Resort was out of town among paddy fields and limestone mountains.We stayed here for 2 nights.We had a day trip on the back of motorbikes,first a river trip through paddy fields and limestone mountains, we were rowed by 2 women and the main rower used her feet to row incredible to watch.
We travelled along the narrow roads visited Pagodas and temples in the area,passed water buffalo,geese,goats,ducks all wandering along the road.
On 7th we caught the train to Hanoi stayed one night in Meracus hotel in the old quarter ,picked up next morning for our cruise to Halong Bay.
We travelled 4 hours to Tuan Chau Island where we boarded the Paradise Cruise Boat for 3 days.
We had a fantastic time sailing pass limestone Islands, Kayaking through caves and eating the most amazing food,fine dining at its best.
We had to change boats as ours had engine trouble( Pauls jinx with boats, continues),but was given up grade to state room which was bigger and had a jaccuzi bath,I thought I would put some bath oils in,wrong, ended up with a bathroom full of bubbles.
On 10th travelled back to Hanoi where we will stay until we fly to Hong Kong on the 13th.
Hanoi is as busy as Saigon with traffic, everyone criss crossing and just missing,its great to watch.
