Ni Sa Bula to everyone from Fiji. Arrived safely from Auckland last Thursday and spent 5 days at the Wellesley boutique resort about 2 hours from the airport on the Coral Coast. It was very remote but absolutely beautiful. Managed by a Brit from London, so we got a special welcome. Right on the beach and next to a typical Fijian village. The coral and the shells were amazing.
Paul played 7 a side rugby on the beach with the locals for about 15 minutes wearing his British Lions rugby shirt which they appreciated. Lovely, lovely people. So warm and welcoming. Did nothing but laze, read and snorkel and the occasional kayak trip. Total chill out place. Rented a car and drove to the Anchorage Resort on the West coast where we stayed for 3 days.
This morning we sailed to Bounty Island where we will be for the next 2 days. We have a bure right on the the beach and it really is paradise.(again) At presnt we are on Treasure Island for the afternoon. Wedding Chapel and all that sort of stuff.
On Monday, we depart for our 3 days sailing cruise round more Fijian Islands. The Southern Yasawas and Mamanucas. We stay in lodges overnight and cruise in a tall schooner ship during the day.
Wednesday we fly to LA for 3 days before we fly back to the UK. It's going to be so strange when we get home!!!!!!! But we can't wait to see you all again.
No wonder Capt. Cook almost had a mutiny when he sailed through here. The sailors didn't want to leave.
Take care all and we'll see you soon.
LOL
