/01 Arrived in Mancira after a really hectic border transfer that involved us all getting into a random bloke´s van and crossing the border! First day in Peru was spent beach resting!
/1 Mancora : tried out surfing, it was fun but i surfed over several rocks and was black and blue by the end of it! This pace is so different to how I expected Peru to be, it could be a mini Ibiza with the series of bars and restaurants!
/01 Mancora: didn´t really do much today as well it´s beach land and there isnt much to do! Night bus to Trujillo.
/01 Trujillo: arrived in the morning after a journey of about 8 hours. Booked a day tour round the Temple of the Sun and Moon and Chan Chan Sand City. Ended the day in Huachaco where I saw men fishing in these famous reed boats.
/01 Trujillo town centre: travelled into the town by public bus and visited most of the landmark sites including the Plaza square the church and the Archaeological museum. Arrived back to Huanchaco where I explored the town a bit and found this small church on top of a hill.
/01After a night bus we arrived at Lima, Peru. First day I spent wandering round Barranco - saw a mini festival taking place.
/01 Lima - Met newbies for tour and then explored the capital city of Lima. Favourite places included San Francisco church with the gigantic Harry Potter style books in the library and the catacombs.
/01 Lima - visited Miraflores district which was incredibly commercial, so much so I though I was in New York not Peru! Anyway went paragliding there which was amazing as we reached 130 metres and glided over buildings in a single bound! Great night out in the Barranco disrict with old style 80s music mostly.
/01 Paracas, Peru - NIGHT STOP (before leaving I sent a box home by post - it took 45 minutes and required my fingerprints, passport photocopy, buying a box from another shop and wrapping paper from another shop all using my pigeon spanish!
/01 Nasca, Peru - travelled through Paracas famous for its Pisco Sour and visited a factory and of course tried quite a few samples! IN the morning I visited the Ballestas islands and saw loads of Peruvian Booby birds alongside Pelicans, Comorants, Penguins and vultures. Then went sandboarding where I actually stood up on the board (very impressed with myself!).
/01 Nasca, Peru. Early morning start to take a lightweight plane to the Nasca lines where I saw the ´hummingbird´, ´spider´, ´whale´, Ástronaut´to name a few. Really interesting experience but the plane was constantly tilting for us to take piccys and needless to say by the end of it i was wishing the plane to land QUICKLY!
