Met the tour leader Saturday night and had a meal with a couple of `people on group (the day I spent walking around the town and having this good looking but sleazy Columbian man follow me!). Sunday we travelled to the Islands - took hours but eventually touched down and got a new stamp in my passport!
First night the crew on board greeted us. We then went to Blatra island where we strolled along the beach seeing my first (of many) sea lions!
The second day on board was a very early start - we visited a sea lion colony and Marine Igugana on Sombrina Chino island. Then off to a coastal area where I tried snorkelling for the first time - it was absolutely amazing with schools of fish swimming right next to you, I also saw two White tip sharks and a se lion swam with me!
In the afteroon we visited Bartholome Island where the film "Master and Commander" (with Russell Crowe) was filmed - it looked like the sfurface of the moon with gigantic craters and of course more sea lions! LOL. In the afternoon we went swimming again and I saw a blue footed booby bird and a penguin - yay!
Last day for some of the group (not me though) we visited St James Bay for the Black Beach and spotted two Killer Whales feeding and Rabida Island for the red beach and Holy Spike trees. We went snorkelling again along its coastline. That night was so rough at sea - even getting off the boat the next day everything seemed to be moving! Before the group farewell we landed at Santa Cruz where we visited the Charles Darwin Centre andf saw the Giant Tortoises and the backside of Lonesome George (he wouldn´t turn around!). Now in an Internet Cafe waiting for lunch - so far so good although I am definitely a land lover rather than a sea lover!
