Today was the day that the Transit of Venus occurred, the last time for 105 years, sadly ruling out the chance of any of us seeing it again. Given the enormity of this, there seemed to be a very subdued level of excitement from the female members of our group. As I hadn't prepared any special glasses and none of the wrist watch selling hawkers had any (although I'm sure they would have told us that their Rayban's would be perfect for the job) we only got to watch it on T.V. We arranged for a driver to take us into Candidassa town so we could shop some more. There didn't seem to be any engineering supply shops selling CNC equipment so my interest quickly dropped and I loitered outside while the others shopped. Claire was also much improved by now and we returned to the resort and a swim followed by the mandatory time share lecture which we fortunately walked away from without buying anything. The afternoon was spent lazing by the pool and thinking that this winter escape idea should become an annual event!
