Following a visit from a local doctor last night my ear is now much improved. He actually came to our room and the cost was much less than in our own country! He gave them both a good flush out (you know, squirting in one ear and putting the kidney bowl under the other!) and some antibiotic drops.
Lisa dragged us all out of bed at 7.00AM for a walk along Kuta Beach before it got too hot. It's unusual to see water condensing on the OUTSIDE of the windows rather than the other way around. Lots of B.P. (beautiful people) walking, riding and jogging along the walking path beside the beach. (And some not so B.P.) A bit like the Gold Coast with worse traffic, no road rules, disintegrating, narrow footpaths and hawkers. The beach was crowded (by east coast tassie standards)but not terrible. It is about 33degC today and high humidity. I've discovered that you don't need a hygrometer here to measure humidity. Simply order a Bintang by the pool while you lay on the recliner and the size of the wet patch left on your crotch as the glass passes from table to mouth is a fairly accurate approximation to the current humidity! The girls are shopping again. I bailed out about 2.30PM and walked back along the beach. Also got sucked in to Time Share lecture at a resort in Nusa Dua by a guy on the street. He actually gave a very good description along the way and was quite interesting but we wriggled out of it unscathed!
