Greetings everyone! It has been a long time since we have had the time to update the blog, and we are still on a tight schedule. I am currently sitting in a hotel lobby waiting for cecilie to return from one of her shopping bonanzas. There has been a quite hectic time since we left for amazonas. We left for a place called poerto maldonado after a short stop in cusco. Poerto Maldonado is a little place with frendly people who all drive motorcycles. We stopped here to repack for our 3-day trip into the jungle. To get to the jungle lodge we first took a long bus drive as long as man-made wheels could take us, before setteling into the boat that would take us 3 hours up river. The jungle is an amazing place! We met our guides Elvis and Ricardo =) They showed us much of what the jungle has to offer: Night walks in the jungle, riverboats, tarantulas and two amazing trees. The trees was actually one gigantic one and one big-ass parasite that has completely devoured the 50 meter tree originally there. The following days we took a swim in the river, played a game of fotball against (and with) the locals, and made frends with a parrot =) The return trip was amazing with morning fog clearing while we took the boat back to Porto Maldonado.Inca trail is done, but I need some more time to explain the mindboggeling mountains in the Andes. We are taking a s***load of pictures, but have yet to find the time or the opportunity to upload them yet. More is comming!Gard.
