As mentioned Otres beach is a beautiful place to spend some time. So we kept on doing it.
We were lucky to end up here and not the alternative beach called ''Serendipity'' where you contray to the name will NOT find something fortunate. Instead that beach is mostly full of garbage and loudness.
We booked a one day trip to the adjacent islands in the area namely Koh Russei, Koh Kiev and the last one. The guy selling the trip was a charming fellow, the kind that makes you feel good after buying something from him (that did not stop me from bargaining the price down a bit :).
For 13 $ we got a pickup, breakfast, boatride, snorkeling equipment, lunch and soft drinks! On the boat we got our tan on and met some nice fellow travellers passing by Shianoukville. We got a good vibe from Janelle and Gary and on the way back, while the girls were fighting motion sickness, the guys made plans for a birthday B.B.Q. celebrating that Gary had managed the feat of surviving a quarter of a century!
The BBQ was tasty with a little bit of everything to go around. Fish, spare ribs, chicken and my favourite: squid served like a popsickle! Later we had some beers, drinks and what the Cambodians call Whiskey.. I belatedly ordered a coke to go with it with a clear concience. The bar, ''Blame Canada'', normally has a bunny either hopping around on the bar, or taking a rest in a basket over the bar. The fluffy creature was missing today, but we got somewhat fuzzy in the end anyways! When the end of the night was nearing we came to the stunning realization that the tuk-tuk drivers, normally a source of some consternation due to negging, now was nowhere to be seen. In the end everyone got home safe and we went our seperate ways, Janelle and Gary went onwards and upwards, while we set our course to the jungle near Chi Phat.
Due to hangover the trip to Chi Phat was postponed and so will the part of the jungle experience.. =)
In the next patch: Chi Phat, Jungle sleepover and the least dirty boxer. Again. And again.
