Down Under!
Well... Bet you all didnt think we'd be writing again to you so soon, well we are, we are missin you all and couldn't resist popin' into an internet cafe and tellin you all in a bit more depth whats happend recently.
we have updated the pics for sydney, these are all of them so far but we still have ones of glebe and newcastle to take before we start headin up the coast towards brisbane, so feel free to have a gander at those.
I think we forgot to mention in the last entry that we spent two days at bondi beach... hmmmm, What can we say... it was a beach! nothing more and nothing less (we would have appriciated it if there were less jellyfish however!) we had much fun for a couple of hrs looking through the rockpools for strange and exotic creatures until a mini 'tsunami' came at us... it was so strong it moved me back, and as rach was holding on to me for support her left flip flop was engulfed by the forces of nature!!! it sailed merrily out to sea, thoroughly pleased with itself for escaping its owners feet and bobbed around in the tide for a couple of hours before sinking in to the depth of davey jones's locker! that was honestly the most intrestin' part of it... the weather was miserable both days when we were there, so we ended up comfort eating. for lunch on the first day Rach had fish and chips whilst i had octopus and chips, it wasn't as bad as it sounds though! it was like eating flavoured old boots, tough and rubbery yet strangely tasty!!! he he he!!! and we both followed it up with a battered mars bar each... they are lush, infact i would go as far to say that it was the nicest tasting thing i have ever had... yet it was so un-healthy that i have restricted myself to one a year!!! when eating outside i decided to feed a lonely pigeon... my mistake... no sooner had the pigeon walked fowards to get the food we were surrounded by no less than 50 seagulls which stole the pigeons food and then flew and settled down in front of us eagerly awaiting their portion!!! it was very embarrasing to have them all around us and everyone kept looking at us wondering how we had aquired all the seagulls of bondi beach! it then got worse when rach dropped a chip between my feet... 50 seagulls dont fit there very well at all!
the next day we had a kangaroo burger each, it was a bit like beef but chewy, tender and a bit more flavoured, quite nice really until it upset both our stomaches for the next few days.
we got sick of bondi beach so left and came back to sunny sydney centre before headin on to glebe, and that is where we are headed now!
catch ya l8r, hope the weather is bein' kind 2 ya
all our love an' hugs
