Aloha!
Finally, I made it to Hawaii. The flight yesterday was a bearable 9.5hr long, went relatively quickly. I was also very impressed with Jetstar!
I tried to write my first blog entry last night, after having not slept for 36hr but in the process, the computer stuffed up and I lost everything so I thought I'd start fresh today!
I got to the hostel at about 9am and couldn't check in til 3 so I went to a mall and killed time... a lot of time. 2 hours were spent trying to get my phone up and running.
And like last night, I don't actually have the number here but once again, those of you who do have it, please pass it on. I'd like to receive some g'days from you! hehe...
Last night I had a fabulous dinner at the Hula Bar, over looking Waikiki beach. Grilled ono (fish), with a Mai Tai (traditional Hawaiian cocktail), Maui Martini (lots of M's) and some sorbet for dessert!! mmm... Delish. It was a more budget day for me today, excluding my Cookie Dough Ice Cream creation from "Cold Stone Ice Creamery" (WHICH we should open in OZ!)
Anyway!
Today I slept in til about 10, after sleeping pretty much like a log! I got up and went to the beach for an hour or so with Kate (Australia) and Rachel (Irish, and, who has the most amazing tan ever?!)... They are two of the girls in my 6person room.
After we sunbaked at the beach and floated around in the ocean with our 'floaties' on, I went for a scenic stroll and took some photos. I didn't realise how small this place actually is, after looking at maps, I thought i'd be a good "Melbourne Block" away from the beach... but the blocks here are small and everything's a stones throw.
Hostel is pretty cool!! It's cheap enough, you can't complain for $24 a night - when you're approximately 200m from Waikiki Beach.
People in Hawaii are all so friendly.
We're going on a pub crawl tonight so that should be fun............... ;)
Scenery is lovely, from what I can see. I am going to do some tours later!! Anyhow... That is about all I can say for now so please, enjoy!
Love always,
Ms Potter
