Our last few days in London were so civilized. : ) The girls went to afternoon tea and shopped around at Harrod's and all four of us attended a stage performance of Les Mis. While I still had "I Dreamed a Dream" buzzing around in my head we boarded our Thai Airways flight from London to Bangkok. Culture shock! 5937 miles, but it feels like a million!
The temperature went from rainy and 30F to muggy and 90F. Our digs are on the 40th floor of an apartment building that overlooks the Chao Phraya River. We slept much of the day and then went to the beautiful pool in our complex. It overlooked the activity along the waterfront. We had noodles delivered for dinner and sat on our balcony. Down below various boats, some old time and some lit up neon went by and a party with karaoke was in full swing. Tomorrow we are headed out on a tour of the city by an old friend of Anthony's from Denver. Andy has lived in Bangkok for 12 years. How great will it be to have a local friend show us the sights?! We are looking forward to a great day.
We are now 14 hours ahead of Denver. I expect to have a little trouble getting used to the time change. I hope if I am wide awake at any point in the night that it is during the Bronco game so I can keep an eye on the score and sort of feel the excitement! Go Broncos!
