Anthony sort of beat me to the punch with his blog from earlier this evening, but I want to reiterate the sentiment. Just in time for Thanksgiving I really am overflowing with gratitude for all that I have and the experience of this journey.
The beauty is everywhere and overwhelming. From the ripples on the sea, to the cloud formations, to the color of the leaves on the olive trees. From the way the land is terraced, to the fisherman tossing a bite to the local cat, to the old women walking arm in arm. From the sound of church bells in every town square, to footsteps on cobblestones, to being surrounded by foreign voices. From a perfectly simple bowl of pasta to wine with lunch everyday. Our pace is unhurried and we meet people and talk and we arrive in new towns and we explore and it is so peaceful.
I am traveling with my favorite people and we are all supporting one another and more respectful of each other than ever before. We have to be, we virtually live in one room. The time and connectivity with my family is probably the greatest gift of this trip.
My cup runs over from the kindness of strangers, to a stronger appreciation for all our friends and family back home. And to top it off, my mom arrives for another visit this week.
I try to drink it all in. I want to remember it all. 7000 photos and counting will help, so will all the great stories and memories, but I just can't hold all the beauty in my brain and all the blessings in my heart. The downside of extended travel?
Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Mom-Grandma-Elaine Amy - what a beautiful message! When we are all giving thanks we need to thank God for the incredibly wonderful world we live in. Seems as though someone raised you with an appreciation of life and yourself in that life! Must've been H2.

Michele Putnicki What a beautiful sentiment. On Thanksgiving, I wanted to check out what you all were up to and wondered if you were thinking about the American holiday. Clearly, you are. Many blessings from across the seas.
