We have kicked off our 2 weeks in Croatia at Plitvice Lakes National Park; the oldest and largest of Croatia's national parks and an UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979. What timing! The weather is glorious, the colors of the trees are amazing and the crowds which are apparently overwhelming in the summer months have dwindled. We spent yesterday morning doing school work and when we arrived at the park around 2:00 many tour buses were on their way out. We hiked the lower lakes, and enjoyed amazing waterfalls and caves. Today, same plan. We will leave in a bit to explore the upper lakes. Hopefully they are as impressive.
We love the B&B we found. Cozy, clean and casual. Perfect 3 c's for us! As the girls do their schoolwork we are entertained by the rooster next door who has a lot to say.
Hope all is well at home. I love the pics on FB of many of you enjoying fall break with the kiddos. We bought a MLB package and get up frequently throughout the night to watch the Cards and Yanks streaming live. We are still holding out hope for our respective teams to meet in the first World Series since we met over 20+ years ago.
Love to all! Amy
