Heading to Dubrovnik our drive cut through Bosnia and Herzegovia. I just had to open the car door and put my foot on the ground to say I had really been there. So I'll count that as our 10th country, unfortunately no passport stamps. I sort of love my passport stamps more than is normal.
We had a crappy apartment in Dubrovnik, but we tried to focus on the fact that we were right in the middle of Old Town, which was pretty convenient. But seriously, I can see the owners getting clever enough with their photography to trick us, but who are these people that give a place like that a 5 star review? And to top it off I blew the electrical at the second location on the trip! Our electronic charger got a little fiery, but that is in the past. Just as we were ready to mentally move on, the ceiling in the kitchen started leaking. Ugh! Poor Celeste was up all night listening to the drip, drip.
Dubrovnik is known as the Pearl of the Adriatic. It was every bit as beautiful as everyone says. And believe me we saw it all, as the other option was to be in our apartment! The highlight was a day at Banje Beach. We splurged and rented a beach bed and read our books and drank fruity cocktails. Unbelievable for mid October.
The next day we took two walking tours, which focused on the history of Dubrovnik. I will leave that blog for AG. I'm more the beach and fruity drink blogger!
