Found another cheap eat
Place:Yoshinoya
Location: in Shiba-Daimon. It on the block opposite Daimon subway station.
Date & Local Time: 9 September 2009, 9:08 pm
Note: We discovered another cheap place to eat. It is called Yoshinoya. When you enter the door, you will notice a counter lined with seats. A waitress will greet you and serve a glass of water. A one page plastic laminated menu will be given to you.
I think it was really value for money. For three dishes, we spent 1040 yen. Me and Dad ordered beef with rice for 380 yen each. Mom ordered beef with rice, tofu and glassy strings from a potato, Kon - ya - ku. It cost 280 yen. We all loved what we ordered.
Before going to Yoshinoya, you must bring a Japanese phrasebook. There are no menus in English. At it is cheap, you will not have an ambient atomosphere.
The staff are really friendly and did their best to help us with whatever little English they knew. A Japanese man was kind enough to explain the ingredients in perfect English.
After this experience, being able to read and speak some Japanese would be very helpful.
I'm sorry I could not take a picture of the whole shopfront. I hope the signe will be recognisable for you, if you get to stay in Shiba Park Hotel.
