Arrived in Chiang Mai about 7am. Got off the coach and were pleased to see our backpacks had arrived too! Our first impressions of Chiang Mai were not what we expected! We had to wait for our transfer to the guest house, we think they may have forgotten us!!
It is much quieter than Bangkok, although still lively. It is very laid back. There are a lot more travellers and bars. The restaurants and the food on the street look more appealing and we may even be brave enough to try something a bit more adventurous!
After dumping our bags we decided to have a walk around so see what is nearby. We visited Wat Chiang Man which is the oldest temple in the city! Was very quiet there with not many tourists.
We have also been planning our next few days in Chiang Mai, we have booked a Thai cooking course for all day tomorrow! We are then off trekking on Monday and Tuesday.
We came back to the hotel and had a nap before we headed to the Chiang Mai night bazzar! We bought some funny looking trousers (although most travellers seem to be wearing them) and of course some bangles!! This cost us about 2 pounds each!
Just went to sort out a hotel for tomorrow night. Less than 3 pounds each and it isn't too bad - another early start in the morning so are heading to bed!
