We are in Krabi and have managed to finally get onto our blog!!!! It only took two hours to get here from Koh Lanta this morning across on several car ferries.
Since we last updated our blog we arrived at Chiang Mai airport by tuk tuk, the flight was great and we arrived in Phuket on time! We organised accommodation in Patong and got a minibus to our hotel. We decided to head out and see Bang La Road for ourselves. It was exactly like what we imagined!! We had dinner and then headed back to the hotel. We were off to Phi Phi the next day.
We woke up in Patong and headed to the beach for a couple of hours. We got on the boat to Phi Phi, the jorney was two hours. Once there we went to our bungalow and then headed out to dinner on the seafront. The restaurant was one recommended in the Lonely Planet! The service was terrible - we received our meals 45 minutes appart!!! The food was amazing though.
We woke up the next day and decided to walk up to the Viewpoint! This was hard work and there were a lot of steps but after our trekking experience we were prepared for it!!! This took about 30 minutes and the view from the top was stunning. It overlooked the whole of Phi Phi. After all this exercise we headed to the beach for the rest of the day. The tide seems to go out very early in the afternoon, meaning we had to walk further out to the sea. In the evening we went out for dinner and bought some t-shirts!
The next day we got a long tail boat to Long Beach, this was a lovely beach. We spent the whole day under a sun umbrella!! It would have been good for snorkelling if Rachael had been brave enough! We then headed back by boat and went out for dinner. After dinner we went to a roof top bar called Banana, we had several cocktails here before going back to the bungalow.
We left for Koh Lanta, having to carry our heavy backpacks to the port. The ferry took 2 hours. Once there a pick up truck was there to meet us. We had to get in the back with two other girls and 6 peoples luggage, as you can imagine it was a squash! Our accommodation was directly on the beach so of course we headed straight there to sunbathe! We went out to dinner at a place called Horizon, the food was cheap and really good. People lit laterns off on the beach, this is a very chilled out place!
This was then our second day in Koh Lanta, we spent the day on the beach and then headed out to another restaurant called Paradise. The food was equally an nice as the night before. We arranged our transport to Krabi and one nights accommodation. Tomorrow we are moving on to Koh Samui!
