Gidday again, We`ve travelled from Lima up into the jungle in the north of Peru to a town called Iquitos. From here we have taken a tour into the jungle for 3 dyas. It was very different from what we have done so far, so it was good for us to see another side of South America. Each day we were plagued with mosquitos which began to drive us mad. However while rowing along the Amazon they disapeared and our guide pointed out some great sites and animals at each turn. We saw Sloths, Cayman (like a crocodile but smaller) Iguanas, heaps of different birds, Eagles and Vultures plus a mountain of insects!! We also got to swim in the river with the Amazonian dolphins, really cool! We went fishing for Paranas and cought 12 while using steak for bait. And yes afterwards we ate them, pretty tasty actually. Our acommodation was almost submerged due to the amount of water flowwing through the river at the time. To use the bathroom we had to wade through water, it wasnt to bad. We were however really well looked after and besides the mozzie bites we survived and are now back in Lima waiting to head off to the Galapagos Islands.
