Once we'd left the guys to get the bus to Brisbane hit the beach one last time before Mum, Dad and Cal came and went back to the camp to pack up everything. We arranged a spot for them to meet us, right by our camp and were told to look out for a white car, which today, there seemed to be thousands of. They got a bit lost and Cam ended up finding them and it was so amazing to see them all! They all looked so pale! ;) We showed them our camp, although there wasn't really anything left to show them and crammed everything into the car.
We headed about 20 minutes about of Byron to a place called East Ballina which was awesome! The apartment was soooo lovely! Luxery compared to where we'd been living the past 2 weeks. We had running water, a shower, electricity to charge our phones, a fridge and an amaaaazing bed! We had never appreciated these things so much in our lives!
The apartment was a 5 minute walk from the beach which was amazing! This beach had almost no one on it and went for miles! It was so lovely to see them all and just chill out with them every day! Cal bought a learners surfboard which was cool and so he went out everyday with Cam although the waves were soooo rough and huge! The current was so strong! I couldn't surf because I had a skateboard accident in Byron and my knee and foot were pretty gamy. On one day there was actually a 8 foot shark in the water! The lifeguard told Cam and he got straight home! There were loads of dolphins in the sea, we saw so many and Cam said that while he was surfing one came so close to him!
Me and Mum went out for some lovely coffees in the morning at this cute little cafe in Lennox Head, the town next to us. I hadn't had a proper coffee for a very long time!! And we'd get these amazing muffins and cakes. Mum usually got Blueberry Bread and I got this Apple and Rasberry Muffin, both freshly baked, mmmmmmm.
Mummy Jeal gave Mum and Dad some presents to bring over which was so lovely of her and I got a few Christmas cards from home which was so nice. So thank you to everyone who's reading, Karen and Graham, Granny and Grandy and Grandma and Grandpa :)
We went into Byron a few times and had a wander round but mainly spent out days just chilling out at the apartment and the beach nearby. We took a day trip to Nimbin one day and we'd also go to this Tea Tree Lake nearby called Lake Ainsworth which was so nice! It was very dark and brown but the water was so warm and soft and me, Cam and Cal used to play in it for hours, just messing about. We went on an awesome walk to the light house in Byron Bay which is the most Easternly Point in Australia, it was so hot but it was probably one of the best day. When we got to the top we saw about 8 dolphins swimming in the sea! I also had another skateboard accident going to fast down a hill so I jumped and skuffed up my other knee and foot, made my previous injury pretty gross and also my hand, elbow and hip.
We went out for fish and chips by the beach one night which was lovely. It was BYO drinks shop so we brought some wine and each got a delicious meal. The fish and chips are the best here! So fresh and yummy! And we'd watch a film most nights or play card games.
Michael came on the 22nd I think it was ready for us to leave down to Melbourne which was very sad saying goodbye to them all :(
