Our Global Gallivants
We hung out on the beach this morning. I did a little exercise. We had to return the car today, so we drove into town to have some street food for lunch. Clement took us on a little road trip to show us this beautiful stretch of beach that's undeveloped. He saw it yesterday from the boat when they went on their snorkelling trip. It was beautiful and the sand was so hot that it was difficult to walk on. We had to scurry down to the waters edge. When we were parking the car to return it, there was a bottle of beer in the gutter that we didn't see. Clement drove over it and it exploded. I could see some beer spray up higher than the window. It made enough noise to attract everybody's attention. While Clement is returning the keys, Dave had a closer look and there was a piece of glass sticking out of the tire. It didn't look good for the tire.
We were back at the hotel in time for happy hour, but it started to rain, so we used that as an excuse to go for a Thai massage. My lower back and butt really got a workout. On our way back to the hotel, there was a street cart selling barbecued.........(you had me at barbecued) pork, chicken wings and satay chicken. The pork was so good that we had 2, and then returned for the chicken wings. Then we went for dinner. It was buy 1, get 1 free on monitors so Bonnie and I had fun. I had tom yum served atop a broken flower pot, as was Jody's curry. We were so full that we couldn't hit the rolled ice cream cart or the banana pancake cart on the way back. Well, there's always Phuket.
Fun day!
