Our Global Gallivants
We rented a ?room in a condo in Seminole, Fl. through AirBnB. The owner is a young lady who is a realtor, so she told Dave that she is not around very often. He called on Monday (before our Friday arrival) and she said, "Who is this?" Seems like she forgot about our arrival because she was on her way to a cruise until the end of the month! Not to worry, though, she has a roommate that will look after us. We let her know that our flight doesn't land until 9:30 pm so we would be late arriving. We arrived closer to 11 and nobody was home. Dave did manage to get the info on how to get in, so we went ahead and unpacked. We had to text the roommate for the Internet code, etc. She explained that she would have been here, but "she stumbled into some fun" and would see us tomorrow. We slept late today and Dave ran into her this morning and she said she had to go and lie down....so much for any questions. Grabbed the GPS and headed out to eat. The GPS power light is not on after we plug it in to the lighter. Not sure how long we can use it on just the battery power, so Dave wants to check the fuse to see if it's burnt out. We don't have any tools and can't get it out and now we're cussing out the rental place because the stupid lighter doesn't work. Then it dawns on us that we used it to get here from the airport last night. Dave pulls the cord out and there's nothing on the end of it. The silver contact and the plastic screw are floating around in the socket, but we have to search the car to find the fuse that goes inside of it. Eventually we get it back together and head on our way. We went out to eat at a breakfast place today. Really good omelette and strawberry crepe. It happens to be owned by some French guy from Quebec. Afterwards, we went to buy some groceries and other necessities like a Sun Pass for the toll roads. When we got back, there's a note on the counter from the roommate saying she's gone until Monday or Tuesday, but we can text if we need anything. Man, we definitely need to loosen up! Works out well for us, since we have the whole house to ourselves.
