Our Global Gallivants
Went to Jody's on Monday afternoon. She's working on reupholstering some chairs to go with her new table. She got frustrated trying to pick the staples out with a little screwdriver so we went to Home Depot to pick up a staple remover and a few other supplies while we were there. I got a mirror hung in her entryway as well as a coat hook. Tuesday we went to Burnaby and spent the night at Dave's folks' place. Dave and his Mom cooked a nice dinner.Wednesday we were back at Jody's. On the way into Chilliwack we saw a little roadside booth called the Corn Barn. They pick their corn the same day they sell it. We picked up a dozen cobs of corn and it was the best corn we've had in a very long time.I hung the tryptich that she had commissioned from an artist she met while house hunting. Charlie remembered Dave and was curling up with him on the couch. We worked a little more on Jody's chair project.Decided to drive all the way home on Thursday. The mountains were quite beautiful with the sun hitting them at different angles. We got to Lake Louise close to sunset so decided to drive in and see what the sunset looks like there. The guy in front of us was driving so slow we pretty much missed it, but the photos still turned out pretty good. A lot less people there than when we took Dave's mom in July. The lake was glass still and that little cabin is right out of a postcard. Beautiful! The temperature was 7 degrees! Apparently there was fresh snow in the mountains 2 days ago. There was a lot of road construction on the way back that slowed the drive down. It was a great vacation with so many things to see and do. Total kilometres driven: 7,000
