Arrived in a very chill and overcast Campo Grande on route to Bonito, Not much to write about Campo Grandi other than the staff at the Hostel Ecologico were very friendly and helpful and the food was a dam site cheaper than in Rio. Anyways was only here for one night and then traveled to Bonito. on route i got chatting to a very nice Russian/Israeli/Belgian girl and a couple from Bulgaria who were pritty nuts, but in a good way.
anyway we arrived at Bonito and found ourselves a pritty cool hostel called the Paseo Sucuri - i think - The owner was a very friendly guy and on our last night we were invited to join in his sons birthday celebration with the whole family which was quite nice, the price for the hostel was also excellent and the breakfast was very good. Whilst there we did a 1hr and 15min (roughly) snorkel down the crystal clear Rio Prata which was really cool. the river temp was 24 deg and out the water it was around 18 I think, so it was pritty chilly out of the water. in the evening we were invited round for soup, some beers and friendly Brazilian hospitality by our guide that day which we duly obliged and who wouldn't it was free.
Anyway that was pritty much al we had time for in Bonito which was a shame as there were loads of other cool stuff to do and the forecast for the next few days after were to be really good. But anyway, another reason to visit again.
I would def recommend Bonito and the hostel we stayed in. I would also recommend Mario owner of the Moito Bonito who is a very very friendly chap who gave honest impartial advice, help when inquiring about bus tickets and schedules and supplied us with as much free tea as we liked and extended the invitation to chill at his place any time and swing it the hammocks, a pritty cool guy.
