I'm now in Cairns, Queensland after 2 hours of broken sleep last night and about 2 hours of sleep on the plane. Everything went smoothly and the plane landed at 09.15 this morning. I hadn't booked any accommodation and so I managed to sort out a hostel that a friend had recommended to me whilst I was at the airport. They even payed my shuttle bus, so I didn't have to fork out for that. The rooms are decent and clean and the hostel has a nice pool. It's only $20 (£12) per night which include dinner too! It's nice and quiet as well, as I don't really want a party hostel while I'm here as I have a couple of busy days coming up and I want to be able to enjoy them. Tomorrow I'm off on a day tour to the Daintree rainforest, North of here, and Sunday I'm going out on a boat to the Great Barrier Reef which I'm mega excited about. Today I arranged to rent a digital underwater camera for the day I go out so that I've got some good quality underwater pics of the world that lives down there. I've just had a stroll around this morning. There is no swimming beach here but a nice man made swimming pool/ lagoon near the waterfront. Cairns is surrounded by rainforest mountains which I didn't expect. It's a beautiful place.
