Number of successful scams on us: 1 ripped off for a hotel when we arrived in the middle of the night by bus into a new town
Number of injuries: 3. Bryn sliced his finger open in a rotating fan, Jo sliced her toe while canyoning, Bryn pulling his back when landing on it on the same canyoning trip,
Episodes of full on d and v: 1 episode for jo
Favourite meal so far: Jo - night market food for cheap as chips in krabi. Thai fish cakes, chicken and rice and massaman curry between us. And tandoori chicken and naan. Bryn - mutton rendang, wantan mee, khaosoi curry, tuna baguettes in Laos!
Number of mosquito bites: lost count
Longest journey: 48 hours from Don Det (Laos) to koh tao (Thailand). long boat, walk, coach, songtau, coach, taxi, train, songtau, songtau, ferry, walk! Phew!
Top 3 things we're missing with the exception of friends and family: Bryn- Gregg's pasties, wooly hat and scarf, a washing machine , Jo- cold weather and a good wooly jumper to feel cozy, festive feeling, baking cakes
Favourite place: Bryn- Halong bay , Jo- Koh Lanta for Christmas
Weirdest animal spotting: monitor lizard in Bangkok, water snake, snakes on the road, water buffaloes a plenty, monkeys stealing a friends bag of crisps and then eating them in plain sight of her, parrot fish and Murray eels
Scariest situation: Bryn-25 metre waterfall abseil ending in an 8 metre freefall , Jo- an 8 metre high jump off a tree into a lagoon in Laos
Most exciting/amazing situation: Bryn-snorkelling on koh tao, Jo-abseiling down a powerful, slippery 25 metre waterfall in Vietnam
Cheapest meal: 60p toasties from 7/11 (a shop like spar), 60p for a fiery red curry with noodles and plenty of veg with Gaz and Alex on their trangia camp stove
Total number of naughty fast foods (KFC/Mc Donald's etc): 4
Cheapest accommodation: £1.50 for an en suite bungalow on the Mekong riverfront in Laos
New years resolutions: Jo- no alcohol for January and make a baking cook book for use in Australia, and do at least 1 addition to it every 3 days. Bryn - no alcohol for january
Regrets whilst travelling: missing out on volunteering at the the elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai,
What we'd bring if we could do it again: trangia stove and our hammock
What we'd leave at home if we did it again: white clothes as they get so dirty, maybe walking boots although they're proved themselves worthy on several occassions
Merry Christmas and a happy new year from Thailand! Missing you all but great to have a few family members out here with us (Tim and Nikki)!

mum xxxxxx Grandma just sat up ready to do the last sum - worried she couldn't cope! Well not worried but expectant . It was 1 + 2! This set her off laughing til she cried again!
