Meh...nowt special!
We spent a couple of my nights in Laos's capital. Not loads to see or do so we spent one of the days swimming and cooling down at the local alfresco swimming pool and practising our dives. By now we're down to a group of 3, with just the Mancunian lad, Kieran with us now.
Watching the sun set over the Mekong river, with a bottle of good Beer Laos in hand was a pretty special memory. I've grown to realise that I'm slightly obsessed with sunsets and the moon/stars. My excitement for them is almost comparable to watching a fire burn or at Christmas when we get the candles out for dinner and I can play with the wax.
Talking of Christmas, you guys back home are already doing Christmas themed Facebook statuses and Christmas adverts and shopping seems to be well under way! Crazy! It's only the beginning of November still. Really, I think I'm just a bit jealous because I couldn't fell less Christmassy if I tried. Ah well... Life of a traveler I guess!
There was a local pool bar near the hostel we were staying in so we spent an evening trying to master pool, which I think I almost did! Call it a fluky evening but I owned that pool table! Well thats my recollection anyway! Bad luck boys! That night i went to bed earlier than the boys, and whilst they were finishing their "one for the road"outside the hostel, a group of lady boys came to see them. I'm told after one of them tryed to get a bit friendly with Bryn, he told him/her where to go. I still think the giggles the next day between Kieran and Bryn meant that kieran was pretty chuffed with the attention! :-)
That next evening Kieran headed off to Vietnam on the 36 hour bus, and we continued our journey down south to Konglor village in central Laos.
