DAY 8:
Time to say good bye to our family and take the bus to Sighisoara. The trip was very windy and slow highlighting the lack on money spent on public road works. Took turns on the bus to spot the horse and carts and shepards with their animal herds. Passed many half finish houses that are in different stage of construction depending on how much money the person has. Many younger locals leave for other areas of the euro zone and send there wages back and build houses with them to avoid taxes.
After close to six hours on the bus we arrived at the birth place of Vald the implarar... The man that inspired the Dracula story. We are staying in the old town so spent the afternoon walking around exploring. Highlights included a church from the 14th century with underground crypt, the old city walls and watch towers. Wanted to go up the Saxon era clock tower but shut early today so will go in the morning.
On the way to dinner we stopped in to visit a local liquor maker. We purchased a bottle and enjoyed it after it in the town square... Not like homeless people but cultured people sitting out enjoying a summer evening and great scenery.
